Idol Finale
I had a very emotional family emergency yesterday so I wasn't able to watch Idol until almost midnight. That being said I was very tired and didn't really feel up to taking notes for the ole blog. This feels like a bit of a cop out but Tia over at Clever Girl Goes Blog really summed up the show better than I could have. The only difference is that I'm rooting for Kris. (Even though I bet a co-worker lunch Adam would win)
Sorry I dropped the ball on the last performance show of the season. I completely missed DWTS too.
Yesterday was a total bummer.
I'm not going to go too deep into what is going on but I do want to say that even if you love someone if the relationship is bad and you just can't get along kids or not you need to separate. Also keep your phone close and on at all times you never know who is going to need you. If I would have just answered my phone Monday a lot of the heartbreak might have been avoided. I don't know maybe it wouldn't have but it would have at least been better knowing that I did all I could. Don't worry everyone is okay there is just a lot to work through.

Music Monday & A Funny

I had another run in at the gas station on my regular morning Diet DP stop but this time it was funny instead of infuriating. As I was getting into my car a large white truck with two little legs clothed in airplane jammies and a steady stream caught my eye. That's right folks, instead of taking his little boy into the gas station to use the restroom this dad pulled over and taught him how to hide behind the truck and take a whiz Big Daddy Style. Awesome. I'm pretty sure the dad caught me laughing hysterically as I was pulling out. Great way to start a Monday.

Top 3- Judge & Personal Choices
So we are down to the top three and basically I think the competition is between Danny and Kris cuz Adam's already in there for sure. I mean it would be a major upset if he wasn't which I think would be kinda good especially since I think he is one of those people who might be better off not winning. As far as it goes with Danny and Kris I think it will come down to which vote is stronger...the God vote or the Girl vote.
Round One - Judges Choice
First up was Danny and Paula chose "Dance Little Sister"
Song - I don't think I've ever heard it but it did sound like a Danny song. 3
Look - Glad that he's loosened up of the past few weeks. he just doesn't have the body for tight clothing. 3
Overall - Terrible dancing. Really but at least he tried and you could tell he was into it. Seemed a little shouty at the beginning but not terrible overall. 3
(Side note: Paula and Simon were kinda cute in a really annoying way during his judging)
2. Kris - Kara & Randy chose "Apologize"
Song - I didn't think it was the best choice for him. Couldn't they have picked something more along the lines of the Plain White Ts or something? 2
Look - Kris always looks good. 4
Overall - I for one was glad he played the piano. It's something he has the the other contestants do not. I thought it was good not great. The judges were a little harsh in my opinion but I think they want an Adam/Danny final so it was to be expected. 3
3. Adam - Simon chose "One"
Song - Simon is always saying not to chose songs sung by icons I didn't expect this choice. I thought it was a good choice but I wasn't expecting it. 4
Look - I'm really not one for the overall denim look. 2
Overall - Started off great but I didn't care for what he did toward the end with the arrangement and the screeching. This is a beautiful song and he uglied it up pretty good in parts I think but he gets points for being original. 4
1st round was pretty even but it goes to Adam.
(Another Side Note: I <3>Round Two - Personal Choice
First again was Danny singing "You Are So Beautiful"
Song - To me this is a karaoke song but it was the perfect song for him. 5
Look - His best so far. I love a man in a vest. 5
Overall - Damn...it was his best of the competition I think. I really liked the arrangement. I wasn't blown away but it was definitely good except that he is a total mouth breather. I don't know much about the technicalities of singing (obviously I only know if I like it or not) but he's breathing annoys me. 4

Song - I was all like... Whhaaat? Damn that's risky but he definitely worked it out. 4
Look - I liked the first outfit better but he still looked good. 3
Overall - Love him with the guitar. LOVE. It was a little shaky in parts but I still loved it. I am a sucker for someone taking a song that is so not in their realm and making it their own. An example:

Look - Much better. Shirt is a little to blingy for a man even this man. 3
Overall - Not amazing or anything but it was very good. It kinda pisses me off that the judges never give him any kind of negative criticism. Still he's awesome. 4

Top 4 - Rock n Roll
I enjoyed the duets as a new element to the show. I do however wish that the judges wouldn't have critiqued the duets. The show is about individual artists not duos or groups so I think they should only be judges on their individual performances.
First up was Adam singing "Whole Lotta Love"
Song - Crazy good. 5
Look - Did anyone else think his and Kara jackets were oddly similar? Anywho I hated the flared jeans and v-neck. He did look the rock n roll part though as usual. 3
Overall - He really truly is super talented. I liked it a lot. My hubby made a comment as he was walking through that it wasn't good enough and he should have picked a different song. I disagreed so I voted for him. 5
2. Allison singing "Crybaby"
Song - Janis Joplin was definitely the right choice for her and I totally disagree with the judges. This song let her show off her vocal abilities in a way that I don't think a lot of Janis songs would. 4
Look - Liking the new hair. She went all out and threw on some shiny leather pants for rock n roll week and she looked good. 4
Overall - I was really surprised by the judges comments. I liked it a lot. As a result I voted for her...A LOT. Like for 10 minutes straight pressing redial. 4
Kris & Danny singing "Renegade"
Weird song choice for both of them. I thought Danny looked uncomfortable in the beginning (probably a result of not having a dress rehearsal) and he seemed to be yelling at the end but the middle was good. I loved the red shirt on him.
Kris's performance was somewhat weak and forgettable. He looked hot though! Loved the ensemble!
3. Kris singing "Come Together"
Song - Not surprised he picked a Beatles song just surprised he picked this one. 3
Look - Loved this look too. Have I mentioned how freaking adorable he is? 5
Overall - I love him but it seemed like something I could've seen in a bar. I want him to stick around though so I voted for him. (Side note: he was the only one I got a busy signal on) 3
4. Danny singing "Dream On"
Song - Initial reaction was WTF! It was an EPIC FAIL. 1
Look - Not digging the larger frames but I did like the vest. The red shirt was better. 3
Overall - I HATED it! I thought the performance was very boring and he was completely out of his element. Instead of picking a song he could arrange to make his own and to fit his voice he picked something that only Adam could really attempt. 2 He should so be the one going home tonight.
Adam & Allison singing "Slow Ride" = EPIC WIN!
I don't even have words. The judges were right I hope these two do a duet on their albums. Definitely the better duo. They both looked the part and the rocked their butts off. One of the best Idol performances of all time! I hope they are in the finals together so they can sing together again.
